Of more than 800 universities in the United States offering graduate degrees in business, approximately 280 are accredited by the American Assembly of Collegiate Schools of Business. Our graduate program, accredited in 1974, was the second of the nine graduate business programs accredited in North Carolina. We are one of approximately 110 graduate business schools that belong to the Graduate Management Admissions Council.

We are committed to quality teaching. A blend of teaching mediums, including lectures, discussions, computer simulations, team projects, cases, and independent research, is used to develop technical competence, critical thinking, and human relations skills. You will receive personalized attention from experienced professors, not teaching assistants. Average class size is twenty-six.

Faculty backgrounds are diverse and cosmopolitan and include extensive business, consulting, teaching, and research experience. Our faculty hold graduate degrees from nationally ranked universities such as Duke, Georgetown, Harvard, Indiana, North Carolina, Virginia, Wharton, Arizona State, Georgia, Tennessee, Texas, Texas A&M;, and Wisconsin.

Approximately on-half of our MBA's work full time for major organizations. You will be in class and work with practicing managers on projects that will enhance your learning and networking opportunities. Eastern North Carolina is home to scores of major corporations, including Burroughs Wellcome, Centura Bank, DuPont, Firestone, Frigidaire, Proctor & Gamble, Sara Lee, and TRW. You will have the opportunity to study with international MBA students and with students in our master of science in accounting (MSA) program.
